The Ages of Lulu (1990)
Lulú follows desire through every unlocked door in Madrid, only to discover that some sexual adventures come with a bill nobody wants to pay.
Bigas Luna’s 1990 film—yes, the one identified as IMDb tt0099484—begins on deliberately rotten foundations: fifteen-year-old Lulú is initiated into sex by Pablo, her brother’s older friend, who then leaves for America and remains lodged in her imagination as lover, teacher and obsession. Years later he returns, marries her and turns domestic life into a private erotic playground. They experiment with voyeurism, role-play and strangers, while a nocturnal encounter brings them Ely, a warm, streetwise transgender sex worker who becomes Lulú’s friend and one of the few people in the picture capable of recognising danger before it bites. Lulú and Pablo have a daughter, yet their marriage never really grows beyond the original game of master and willing pupil. When Pablo arranges a blindfolded encounter that crosses an unforgivable family...
boundary, Lulú walks out—but she cannot simply switch off the appetite he helped create. Alone, she becomes fascinated by gay pornography and starts paying men to perform while she watches or joins in, pushing each session further because ordinary pleasure now feels disappointingly tame. Money, curiosity and poor judgement eventually steer her towards Remy, an operator connected to Madrid’s underground S&M scene, where fantasy stops being a controlled game and becomes something colder and genuinely threatening. This is not a cheerful celebration of sexual liberation. It is a grubby, provocative drama about desire becoming dependency, and about a woman who mistakes escalation for freedom because nobody ever taught her where her own boundaries were. Luna shoots the erotic scenes with red light, tight close-ups and amplified breathing, rain and creaking beds, giving them an unreal, sealed-off intensity. The trouble is that the film often seems as fascinated with displaying Lulú as it is with understanding her. It can be passionate, unsettling and strangely tender, then suddenly feel mechanical or exploitative. That tension is exactly why it gets under the skin: you are never quite sure whether you are watching Lulú explore her fantasies or watching the director consume them on her behalf.
Made during Spain’s sexually outspoken post-Franco period, the film carries the swagger—and the hangover—of a culture still testing how far it could go after decades of repression. It was shot largely around Madrid, but do not expect a glossy tourist postcard. Luna prefers apartments, wet streets, anonymous meeting places and increasingly claustrophobic clubs, turning the city into a maze where respectable daytime life sits only a taxi ride from the sexual underground. Everyday scenes have a comparatively plain, naturalistic look; the erotic episodes slip into saturated colours, especially red, as though Lulú has entered private chambers detached from ordinary time. The vibe begins as forbidden romance, loosens into bohemian sexual adventure and gradually curdles into an urban erotic nightmare. It is bold, morally murky and uncomfortable by design—a film to watch for feverish atmosphere rather than emotional reassurance.
Francesca Neri is the whole show: dark-haired, striking and intensely watchable, with a face that can move from teasing confidence to wounded bewilderment without begging for sympathy. She plays both the adolescent and adult Lulú, though the film’s casting cannot disguise the disturbing age imbalance in the opening relationship. Once Lulú is grown, Neri gives her a potent mixture of sensual assurance and emotional immaturity; she can look completely in command while clearly drifting towards disaster. María Barranco brings welcome humanity, humour and tenderness as Ely, earning the film’s strongest emotional connection whenever the sexual machinery threatens to swallow the people inside it. As for explicitness, this is far beyond tasteful candlelight and strategically placed bedsheets: there is extensive nudity, simulated intercourse, voyeurism, group sex, bondage and sexual violence, filmed with an enthusiasm that repeatedly edges towards pornography without becoming genuine hardcore. Neri’s beauty supplies the heat, but her exposed vulnerability is what leaves the bruise.
The story of a Bored & Adventurous young woman’s descent into the kinky & perverted sexual underground of Madrid.
A film about a 15 years old teenager Lulu (played well by Italian actress Francesca Neri) who has a crush on her brother’s best friend Pablo, losing her virginity to him & eventually getting married to him. Thereafter the film narrates the story of her descent into the world of perversion, kinky sex & BDSM in the underground sex clubs of Madrid.
The film, made in 1990, was shot with the simple, rather crude, cinematography typical of those times but it hits the right hotness chords with its Raw, Unpretentious Eroticism and Basic Humane portrayal of Sexuality.
The first scene is from the film’s beginning, where the 15 yr old anxious Lulu goes to a concert with her crush Pablo and loses her virginity to him. The scenes are unexplainably Hot 🔥 in their simplicity and naturalness, like reading an old classic book of smut.
In the 1st scene: After the concert & a few gins, Pablo asks Lulu to give him a blow job in his car, when she says no, he says ok he’ll drop her home. The young naïve girl is ready to do anything to NOT go back home and so it starts… he takes her back to his place, tells her to remove her panties & sit on his lap, as he proceeds to ask the shy girl to tell him how she masturbates, then he shaves her pubic hair (“to make you pretty down there too”) and fucks her virgin pussy.
The second scene shows Lulu’s crush Pablo coming back after a long travel, and them having some Good Hot Sex 🔥🔥
In this scene: Pablo brings her a dildo as a gift which she takes out & uses immediately. While making out, she tells him that she used to masturbate thinking about him when he was gone, and that she once fantasized that he was her father, a ‘Bad Daddy’, Perverted & Incestuous, They both get very turned on by this. Pablo has Anal sex with her for the first time, and he is so happy that as soon as he cums, he proposes marriage to her.
Then they get married and have sex like newly married excited horny couple all over the house.
In this next scene, Pablo suggests a threesome to Lulu, to which she readily agrees… by this time in the movie they have experimented with a lot of kinky sex, with gays, transexuals, etc which i did not include because I’m not into that…
But here’s the thing, he blindfolds her and brings a friend in to have a threesome with her… after a Hot and Passionate session of Hot Sex and multiple orgasms, when Lulu takes the blindfold off, she finds that the friend that her husband brought in & made her have sex with, was Marcelo, her own brother, Pablo’s best friend.
After this, she gets disgusted and leaves him… but this 34 minutes JUICED highlights include only the good Sex part… 😛🔥🔥✨✨
