Marie de Heredia is clever, beautiful and born into a celebrated literary family that has prestige to spare but very little cash. Two poets circle her: Henri de Régnier, wealthy, respectable and painfully earnest, and his friend Pierre Louÿs, a handsome traveller, libertine and collector of erotic...

Drifting through the grand hotels of Lake Geneva, he falls in with two splendid oddballs: René Meinthe, a flamboyant doctor who calls himself the Queen of...

In this 2018 Indian avant-garde art film directed by Ashish Avikunthak, Dableena Sen captivates as a woman trapped in a web of forbidden desires, her cool exterior melting into fiery embraces that leave viewers breathless. The film follows three lovers who, while recalling a friend who committed suicide, descend into a labyrinth of desire and forsaken love. It portrays affection as a "dispassionate yearning" and an "indifferent desire"
A respectable Roman dentist, his unstable pianist wife, two dangerously curious young women—and enough forbidden desire to make Beethoven sound positively well-adjusted. Gianluigi Calderone’s Appassionata is not a breezy Italian sex comedy but a clammy domestic melodrama in which lust spreads through an already fractured family. Emilio Rutelli is a handsome, prosperous middle-aged dentist married to Elisa, a former concert pianist who abandoned her career for him and now suffers severe...
Young french teen Faustine goes for holidays to her grandfather's farm in the French countryside. A dream cast: Isabelle Adjani, Francis Huster, Georges Marchal, Jacques Weber, etc. A wonder of cinematography by Ghislain Cloquet (Oscar, BAFTA, César for "Tess") and the OMG! lovely Muriel Català. Lame script, dumb acting... BUT watch this juiced film for the Beauty of French Country Nature and the Young Nymphet Faustine. It's an Aesthetic and Romantic film, conveying the feeling that Josh Pyke...
The most talked about, written about, controversial movie of the year when it was released, Forbidden, Provocative, Unforgettable. When the Russian author Vladimir Nabokov wrote his novel 'Lolita' way back in 1953, it gained quick notoriety and at the same time became an instant bestseller, despite (because of) its taboo theme. The reason the book, and later the 1962 Stanley Kubrick movie based on it, became so hugely popular, is because it struck a chord in thousands of men across the world...

She does not yet understand that she suffers from anhedonia, a psychological inability to experience pleasure, so she assumes her lovers are the problem and keeps running whenever disappointment...
A forbidden portrait becomes a two-hour seduction by glances, brushstrokes and bad timing—French romance served rare, smoky and quietly devastating. In Brittany in 1770, Marianne, a young painter played by Noémie Merlant, arrives at an isolated estate to paint Héloïse, the aristocratic daughter of a countess. The finished portrait will be sent to Héloïse’s prospective husband in Milan, and if he likes the merchandise, so to speak, marriage follows. There is one snag: Héloïse refuses to pose...

Ovid teaches Rome how to seduce, but Marina Pierro proves that love lessons become dangerous once jealous husbands, loose servants and free-range lust join the class. In Augustan Rome, the celebrated poet Ovid lectures an eager crowd on his Ars Amatoria, treating seduction as something halfway between philosophy, military strategy and a dirty weekend. His most attentive pupil is Cornelius, a handsome young man who fixes his sights on Claudia, the voluptuous wife of the tribune Macarius. Claudia...
