Aviva is a Very Aesthetically made Musical, which means people will randomly start dancing anywhere for no reason at all… which is actually Great!!
It’s a story of a man Eden, and a woman Aviva, (at least they start off as a man & a woman), who live across continents and start liking each other enough to actually travel and meet up.
But throughout the film, the writer keeps fucking with your mind, by randomly swapping the genders of each one of them… And making you disoriented, loosening up some very basic assumptions about Reality and Gender stereotypes by swapping the characters from man to woman to man randomly.
Perhaps trying to prove that human behaviour is not defined by genders and anyone can do, say or be anything… But to anyone observant enough in life, it’s clear that it’s not True, because some things just don’t fit in a man or in a woman.
So there’s a man Eden and a woman Eden & there’s a woman Aviva and a man Aviva, and one day the man Eden is chatting with the woman Aviva and the woman Eden walks in and kisses then both and sits down on the table and starts chatting with them.
And this is where I switched off my mind and just started enjoying the Dances, the Visuals & the Aesthetics without thinking… and understood THIS is what the film was about.
This short & sweet 19 minutes JUICED highlights of Aviva is just that, the Beauty, the Dances, the Sex, without the gender blender smoothie warp that stops making sense a few minutes in the film.
Aviva is a Art Deco Quirky Musical, Very Aesthetic and Pleasing if you are able to suspend your conventional habituated mind & And just Float with it.
About this film
After meeting online, transatlantic lovers Aviva and Eden embark on a tumultuous courtship, love affair and marriage. The couple struggles, separates, and tries to get back together, as dual aspects of each one's personality battles forces inside and out.
